Outlook 2007

For anyone who is using Outlook 2007 (or any other version of Outlook) and having trouble sending, try changing your port from 587 to 465. This should clear up your problems.

Armerding.org Instant Messaging Services

Posted on 04 Jul 2007, 20:46 PDT
Due to the recent server upgrades that we performed, we're now able to offer a Jabber based instant messaging service for Armerding.org users. What this means is that you can use your email address as your instant messaging account that anyone using a Jabber server can contact you with (an example is Google Talk). If you are unsure what exactly Jabber is, it is an open and standards based messaging protocol, versus the proprietary ones run by AOL, Yahoo, Microsoft, etc. It is more akin to email, where anyone can run their own server.

So if you're wondering how to use your account, all you need to do is run a Jabber client. A list of suggested clients follows:

* Windows
   - Psi: http://psi-im.org/
   - Pandion: http://www.pandion.be
   - Miranda: http://miranda-im.org (see note)
   - Pidgin: http://pidgin.im (see note)
* Linux
   - Psi: http://psi-im.org/
   - Pidgin: http://pidgin.im (see note)
   - Kopete: http://kopete.kde.org (see note)
* Mac OS X
   - Psi: http://psi-im.org/
   - iChat: comes with Mac OS X 10.4
   - Adium: http://www.adiumx.com (see note)

Alternatively you can use a web based client at: http://www.meebo.com

Once you have your client chosen and installed, all you need to do is give it your armerding.org email address (including the "armerding.org" part) and password. If you need help getting it configured, feel free to email me for support.

(Note: Miranda, Pidgin, Kopete, and Adium support connecting to multiple services at once. You can use a client like these to still connect to your AIM, Yahoo, and MSN accounts while also connecting to your Armerding.org account)

New email access problem - solution

Posted on 28 Jan 2007, 08:52 PST
Whoops! Miscommunication between Peter and Will. Your initial password sent out via email starts and ends with lowercase letter. Please login to the armerding.org website FIRST and change your password to one of your own choosing. Then select the webmail link to access your mail by logging in to the Armerding.org WebMail. When this is all working then setup your PC's email client settings according to the script at http://irack.ath.cx/mail-setup/.

Call Peter if you need help.

Posted on 06 Aug 2006, 10:44 PDT
The slide show of memories from the BIG Party are now in the Gallery

Please note that the URl above has changed slightly.

Once again , the album is there for your fun and enjoyment. Feel free to share the URL with any friends or family who might enjoy browsing the memories. Especially those who were not able to make the festivities in Vancouver.

I have posted some snapshots that I took before and during the festivities. I'd be glad to add more if any one sends them to me.

Love to all,
Peter

Whoops

Posted on 31 Jul 2006, 08:55 PDT
Sorry, I had a problem with only partial pictures loaded. In trying to fix it last night i had to delete the album and try to start over. Then the start over didn't work correctly either.

Patience, they will be up soon.
